COVID-19 Burden of Disease Training School miriam.saso@sc… Wed, 01/12/2022 - 13:29

We are excited to start the new year with a new activity: The COVID-19 Burden of Disease Training School.

The COVID-19 Disease Burden Training School (TS) is a collaboration between the burden-eu COST Action and the PHIRI project and will take place in person in Ljubljana (Slovenia) between the 30th of March and the 1st of April 2022 (3 days). At the moment, we do NOT plan to have a hybrid meeting.

The TS provides an introduction to burden of disease assessment, using COVID-19 as a case study. The TS will provide public health professionals, and researchers from related fields, with practical knowledge about summary measures of population health, the historical background of the Global Burden of Disease study and its outputs. Furthermore, the TS will introduce the concept and rationale of the main metrics (YLLs, YLDs and DALYs), and underlines their application and importance or priority setting in public health policy and decision-making processes.

  • Deadline for applications: 31st of January 2022 at 23.59 CET
  • Selection: The selected participants will be communicated by the 4th of February 2022
  • Costs: If part of the Burden of Disease Network, you will be eligible for reimbursement regarding transportation, accommodation and food. Please check on this page how you can easily join the network.
