Legal framework and institutional responsibilities

The Estonian National Institute for Health Development (TAI) is collecting, studying, monitoring, and developing measures to promote the well-being and health of the population in the country. It provides expertise and solutions to support decision-making on populational, governmental, municipal and community level. 

TAI is engaged in public health related research and health promotion as well as development and implementation of disease prevention programmes and activities.

TAI is an independent expert agency working under the Ministry of Social Affairs.
