PHIRI is a roll-out of the research infrastructure on population health information to facilitate and generate the best available evidence for research on health and well-being of populations as impacted by COVID-19. PHIRI will allow for better coordinated European efforts across national and European stakeholders to generate the best COVID-19 population health knowledge. In doing so, PHIRI will lay the foundation to build a Distributed Infrastructure on Population Health (DIPoH) to be used to overcome future crisis and ensuring the sustainability of the project. The intent is to support research across Europe through the identification, access, assessment and reuse of population health and non-health data to underpin public health policy decisions. This will be achieved through a close collaboration with 41 partners across 30 countries over a period of 36 months starting in November 2020. The project is divided in 9 ambitious work packages with three transversal topics. PHIRI builds on the achievements of the BRIDGE Health and the Joint Action on Health Information (InfAct) projects.

To produce a revised set of reproductive health indicators for the enlarged EU; To construct a compendium of reproductive health data currently available within the EU; To develop standard operation procedures for the appropriate use of the reproductive health indicators throughout the EU; Develop and pilot a youth reproductive health survey for use by selected Member States. 
To assess the usefulness of a comprehensive set of sexual and reproductive health indicators designed for the enlarged European Union, with particular emphasis on the reproductive health of adolescents and young adults

To validate the potential of the Injury database IDB to fulfil the requirements of the European statistical system by integrating these data with the existing hospital discharge registers (HDRs). The overall goal is to develop and evaluate a data model for the integration of routine and more detailed hospital data on injuries, namely thru linking the official HDR with the EU-IDB.

To assist European, national, regional and local decision makers in developing their health policy, through a better understanding of the health status of the population and of health inequalities at regional and sub regional level

The general objective for EUnetHTA JA3 (2016-2021) is to increase the use, quality and efficiency of joint HTA work at European level to support evidence-based, sustainable and equitable choices in healthcare and health technologies and ensure re-use in regional and national HTA reports and activities, in order notably to avoid duplication of assessments. An overarching objective is to develop a general strategy, principles and proposal for a scientific and technical mechanism of permanent sustainable European Collaboration on HTA

The general objective of EUnetHTA JA2 (2012-2015) is to strengthen the practical application of tools and approaches to cross-border HTA collaboration. The JA2 aims at bringing collaboration to a higher level resulting in better understanding for the Commission and Member States (MS) of the ways to establish a sustainable structure for HTA in the EU.

EUnetHTA JA1 (2010-2012)

The overarching objective of EUnetHTA JA1 (2010-2012), including work on relative effectiveness assessment (REA) of pharmaceuticals, is to put into practice an effective and sustainable HTA collaboration in Europe that brings added value at the European, national and regional level.

EUnetHTA Colalboration (2009): The EUnetHTA Collaboration was launched in November 2008 in order to continue the work initiated during the EUnetHTA project.  

The general objective of the EUnetHTA Project (2006-2008) is to establish an effective and sustainable European Network for Health Technology Assessment – EUnetHTA that informs policy decisions

Project that aims to improve the description of health inequalities in Europe and to enhanve the evidence-base for policies to reduce inequalities in health. 
The specific objectives:
1. To develop health inequalities indicators, and to provide bench-marking data on inequalities in health and health determinants to participating countries
2. To assess evidence on the effectiveness of policies and interventions to tackle the determinants of health inequalities, and to make recommendations on strategies for reducing health inequalities in participating countries
3. To disseminate the results, and to develop a proposal for a permanent European clearing house on tackling health inequalities.

To establish and operate a network, comprising primary data providers (European Cancer registries) and organizations with experience in coordination, collection, quality control, standardization, processing and dissemination of data, to provide with updated and standardized indicators of cancer. The objective of EUNICE is to compile, compare, analys, interprete and disseminate information relevant for monitoring of the status of cancer burden in the European populations, planning and evaluation of cancer control measures at national and EU level.

The aim of Health Literacy Europe is to facilitate knowledge transfer and development concerning health literacy policy, research and practice. Health Literacy Europe joins advocacy at European and global levels to build health literacy for all.

The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a research infrastructure for studying the effects of health, social, economic and environmental policies over the life-course of European citizens and beyond.
