A proportion of people who contract COVID-19 experience persisting ill health that can have a serious impact on their ability to resume work and social lives. Available estimates show that about a quarter of those with COVID-19 suffer from symptoms 4–5 weeks after testing positive, with about one in 10 experiencing symptoms after 12 weeks. This webinar focuses on a discussion about the necessary preparation of health systems for the treatment of this sudden new cohort of patients, how patients can develop a voice in formulating a health system response and adapting diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines, as well as what kind of surveillance and monitoring we need for long-term COVID.
