The EUPHA Public Health Epidemiology Section (EUPHA-EPI) is hosting a webinar featuring Professor John Ioannidis from Stanford University, focusing on evidence-based public health. This webinar aims to educate the European public health epidemiology community on the critical role of evidence in guiding public health responses to chronic issues and acute crises. Professor Ioannidis will highlight the importance of robust data generation, collection, and interpretation, drawing examples from chronic diseases and experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion will underscore the essential role of public health epidemiologists in producing and utilizing reliable, transparent, and reproducible evidence to inform policy decisions.
