Countries have introduced lockdowns to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to prevent transmission by limiting population movement and curtailing many social and economic activities. The individual lockdown measures and their implementation have varied from country to country, but all lockdowns have had profound impacts beyond COVID-19 prevention. Such impacts on issues including mental health, employment, education, the environment and social inequalities have been diverse. This webinar focuses on discussing what the social costs of lockdowns are and whether there are any benefits from changes in our daily lives that we might want to retain after the pandemic.
