Overview
GEDA (Gesundheit in Deutschland aktuell / German Health Update) is a nationwide representative cross-sectional survey of the resident population in Germany. GEDA is conducted by the Robert Koch Institute as part of the population-based health monitoring on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Health. From 2008 to 2020, five GEDA waves have been realized. The questionnaire of the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) has been integrated in the GEDA study since the 2014/2015 wave.
The General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act apply
The Robert Koch Institute collects data in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation ( GDPR ) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-new). The official data protection officer of the RKI advises and supports the project management in questions of data protection.
GEDA 2019/2020-EHIS is funded by the Robert Koch Institute and the German Federal Ministry of Health.
Demographics
Dataset
The data from surveys conducted by the Robert Koch Institute is available to use by the scientific community on application as Public Use Files. Each Public Use File is comprised of the respective data record along with documentation and a description of the study, sample survey documents, code plan and user instructions (in German only). The data records can be requested upon application from the Research Data Centre (Robert Koch Institute, MF4). Additional data may be made available within the framework of cooperation agreements and jointly evaluated where appropriate.
