Statistics and research. The purpose is to collect data in order to develop and organise maternity care, obstetrical services and neonatal care. Register collects information about all life and death births in Finland for children who's birth weight is at least 500g or pregnancy has lasted at least 22 weeks. Also information about mothers of these children are collected.
