    Description

    Through regular data collections, the IQED project monitors quality of care in about 100 recognised diabetes centres throughout Belgium and provides individualised feedback, helping the centres to improve their quality of care.

    Target population: adults (> 18 years old) with diabetes on ≥ 3 insulin injections per day. 

    Data collection started in 2001 and is still ongoing. 

    Linkage is possible with IQECAD, IQED-Foot, IMA and NR.

    The database includes information on selected sociodemographic characteristics (such as age, gender and place of residence, among others), diabetes diagnosis, treatment, examinations and complications. Type of data: pseudonymised individual data. Data are not publicly accessable. Specific data (analyses) are provided upon request.

    Regulations for data sharing

    An anonymised data set can be shared after a data request is made and it is discussed with a group of experts.
