    A WHO training workshop in collaboration with the Paul-Ehrlich Institute, Frankfurt, Germany, from June 27th to 30th, 2023, aims to enhance vaccine safety monitoring capabilities in middle-income countries (MICs). The workshop will provide participants from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Tajikistan, North Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan with WHO guidance, best practices, and tools for evaluating vaccine safety monitoring systems. Key topics include quality assurance, international data standards, and the utilization of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) data for signal detection and evidence-based vaccine safety responses. The workshop will foster knowledge exchange and strengthen intercountry connections among AEFI surveillance professionals, contributing to improved vaccine safety in the region.
