Following the rapid development of effective COVID-19 vaccines, countries are now facing the challenge of rapidly rolling out vaccination programmes to immunize the population and restore as much of normal life as quickly as possible. One of the biggest challenges has been building robust data systems to identify who is eligible for vaccination, to record who has been vaccinated (when, which dose, and with which vaccine), and to monitor any adverse events for ensuring vaccine safety. This webinar focuses on discussing how countries can overcome fragmentation in existing data systems, what can be learned from decentralised countries like Belgium and whether the existing barriers to data sharing are logistical or legal.
