The COVID-19 pandemic has been accompanied by a surge of information, some accurate and some not. Information gaps and a mix of misinformation and malicious disinformation have also led to confusion around the choices we are making to protect ourselves and each other. This can lead to harmful behaviours and erode social cohesion. Improving the management of this ‘infodemic’ is critical for a successful pandemic response. This webinar focuses on discussing how to manage an infodemic, what tools and techniques can be used and where research and innovation is needed to strengthen the overall response.
